• Case relates to legal fight with rival football agent Tony McGill
Phil Gartside, the Bolton Wanderers chairman, and other senior football figures appeared in court on Wednesday to face perjury or fraud allegations relating to a legal battle over a £1 million transfer deal.
Agent Tony McGill, 56, is bringing a private prosecution against Gartside, who he accuses of five counts of perjury and one of fraud by false representation. Ten other parties are also named in the case including the former manager Sammy Lee and former director of football Frank McParland, top agent Jerome Anderson and others from his SEM firm, and the ex-midfielder Gavin McCann.
